We are a private educational community for students from Nursery to 11th grade. We offer bilingual education to El Cerrejon employees children and other authorized personnel. The curriculum offered by the school is in accordance with the guidelines established by the Colombian Ministry of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

IBO CANDIDATE SCHOOL

The aims of the language policy in our school are:

• Develop students linguistic skills in both languages that the school offers: Spanish (native language) and English (second language).
• Increase the level of proficiency in communication skills, in both languages, of all the members of the community.
• Develop in all stakeholders an awareness and appreciation through the study of texts and social interaction of the different perspectives of other cultures.
• Promote a bialphabetic community.
• Respect and become involved in the region’s cultural diversity.
• Reflect the philosophy of the IB programs in the use of the two target languages.

Somos una comunidad educativa de carácter privado para estudiantes de Pre-Primaria, Primaria, Escuela Media y Pre-Universitario. Ofrecemos una educación bilingüe a los hijos de los empleados del Cerrejón y otro personal autorizado.  El programa que el colegio ofrece está de acuerdo con la guía del Ministerio de Educación de Colombia y la Asociación Sureña de Colegios y Universidades de Estados Unidos (SACS).

COLEGIO CANDIDATO AL OBI

La meta de nuestro colegio con respecto a la política lingüística es:

• Desarrollar en los estudiantes, las habilidades lingüísticas en las dos lenguas que imparte el colegio: español (lengua materna) e inglés (segunda lengua).
• Incrementar el nivel de competencia de las habilidades comunicativas, en las dos lenguas, de los miembros de la comunidad.
• Desarrollar en todos los miembros de la comunidad, la conciencia y sentido de apreciación de las diferentes perspectivas culturales a través de la interacción textual y social.
• Promover una comunidad lingüística bi-alfabética.
• Respetar e incursionar en la diversidad cultural de la región.
• Reflejar la filosofía de los programas de la Organización Bachillerato Internacional (IBO) a través del uso de las dos lenguas.
